Biography
Vem has worked with John Mayer, Jerry Seinfeld, Rob Reiner, Sarah Mclaughlin, Five for fighting, DMX, Tyrese, The Click Five, Nelly, Daniel Powter, The X-ecutioners, Pharrell and Master P, just to name a few. In the process, he has received various accolades for his work. His "The Click Five" video was named "Entertainment Weekly top ten video of the year", his "Five For Fighting" video was featured on "the Best of 2006" list on Vh1, he has been nominated for a MTV VMA in both directing (breakthrough video of the year) and editing (best editing), he has been nominated for a Source Magazine award for Video of the Year. He is also an AFFMA award recipient and his short film work has been screened at various international film festivals.
Throughout the last decade of creating music videos and short films, Vem has shown to be a uniquely gifted director with a vast creative range. From the frenetically animated "Pressure", to the pop as it gets "Just the girl", to the brutally dark "Ruppy". Vem has defied categorization and has made his mark appealing to various different audiences.
Vem first entered the film world as a programmer at the Slamdance film festival. He has since then gone on to create a body of work in Short Films, TV, Music Videos, and Commercials. He is also the creative director of a post-production company.
